Mr Ivan Boo started his career in the tourism industry, starting with the Singapore Tourism Board before moving to the Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. He subsequently joined Congrex Holdings, an international conference management company based in Stockholm, Sweden, as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Congrex Singapore and Malaysia for two years. Ivan ultimately started his own conference management company: INMEET CMS. Through conference management and speaking with like-minded academics and researchers, Ivan uncovered his interests in serious games. This led him to form the Serious Games Association in Singapore. Through the Association, Ivan conceptualised and produced the Serious Games Conferences and the Health Innovation Technology Challenges (HIT Challenge) from 2012 to 2017.
He is currently the President of the Serious Games Association and plays an active role in advocating for the use and adoption of games in education, healthcare and adult learning in Singapore and Asia. He has also developed several serious games projects for Singapore General Hospital and started his own company, Serious Games Asia, which focuses on game data analytics.
